Project Description
RDG is working with the Big Blackfoot Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks to implement several fish screen projects on unscreened irrigation diversions on several Blackfoot River Bull Trout spawning tributaries. RDG’s designs have included flat panel screens, rotary drum screens and in-stream, pipe-mounted wedgewire screens. RDG’s fish screen designs seek to achieve a balance between maintaining channel processes and providing low maintenance fish screen alternatives for water users. Project implementation typically involves replacing the existing diversion structure with a rock or log cross vane.
